These Terms & Services (“Terms”) govern access to infectious-awareables.com and the home-improvement planning, estimating, design-assist, and construction-related services offered by Infectious Awareables (“we”, “us”, “our”). By browsing this website, submitting a form, requesting a quote, or instructing us to proceed with work, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site and do not send project information.
Infectious Awareables is a home-improvement studio. We plan and deliver kitchens, bathrooms, interior painting, flooring, lighting upgrades, millwork, and coordinated whole-home refreshes. We also provide advisory packages described on the Pricing page. Website content is informational. A binding project exists only after both parties accept a written scope, price, and schedule.
We do not publish a public street location or telephone listing on this website. Communication for quotes, changes, and aftercare is handled through the contact, subscribe, and unsubscribe forms and through email you provide.
You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that you have authority to request work on the property described in your enquiry. If you are a tenant, property manager, or family member acting for an owner, you must have written permission from the person who can authorise demolition, fixture removal, and finish changes. We may pause a project if authority is unclear.
You may view pages, download materials we expressly offer, and submit forms for legitimate home-improvement enquiries. You must not:
We may suspend access if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken. The site may be unavailable during maintenance. We are not liable for temporary downtime, browser incompatibility, or third-party font and icon services used to render the design.
Prices shown as $49, $69, and $99 are planning retainers or advisory starting points, not the full cost of a kitchen or bath remodel. Construction estimates are prepared after we review photos, measurements, and (where agreed) an on-site inspection. Estimates are valid for the period stated in the written quote, typically fourteen (14) days, unless material markets move in a way we disclose in writing.
A quote assumes existing structures are sound, substrates are suitable, and services (water, waste, power) can support the described finishes. Hidden conditions—rot, unlevel subfloors, undocumented wiring, moisture behind tile, asbestos-containing materials, or pest damage—are excluded until inspected and priced as a variation.
Planning retainers are applied to a subsequent construction contract if you proceed within ninety (90) days. They are otherwise considered payment for design and scoping time already spent.
The written scope is the complete description of rooms, finishes, fixtures, exclusions, and allowances. Verbal comments on site do not change the contract unless confirmed in writing. If you ask for extra paint, a different counter, additional lighting points, or a layout change, we will issue a variation describing cost and time impact. Work on that variation does not start until you accept it.
Allowances for tiles, taps, appliances, or lighting are not guarantees of a particular product. If a selected item exceeds the allowance, you pay the difference. If it is below the allowance, the saving is credited unless the contract says otherwise.
You must provide safe access, working water and power for tools, and a place to store materials that you have approved. Pets should be secured. We protect floors and furnishings in work zones using industry-standard coverings. We cannot guarantee that fine dust will never travel in an occupied house, but we use dust walls and daily tidy-up as described in the method statement.
If access is refused, utilities are disconnected without notice, or other trades you hired obstruct our sequence, we may stand down and charge reasonable waiting time. We will not work in conditions we judge unsafe, including unsupported structures or live electrical work outside our agreed lighting and fixture scope.
Natural stone, timber, and handmade tile vary in colour and grain. Samples are indicative. We may substitute an equivalent product if a specified item is discontinued, provided the substitute meets the performance of the original and you are notified. Imported fixtures may have long lead times; the schedule will be adjusted if a supplier delay is outside our control.
Client-supplied materials remain your risk until installed. We may refuse to install goods that are damaged, incomplete, or unsuitable for the substrate. Re-ordering delays are yours if the goods you supplied fail.
Workmanship is judged against the written specification and ordinary visual inspection from a standing position in normal daylight, not under raking light or magnification unless the specification requires it. Paint, caulk, and alignments are completed to a residential finish standard. A snag list is prepared at practical completion. We return to close reasonable snags that are our responsibility. Wear, cleaning chemicals, movement of the building, or changes you make after handover are not snags.
Where a manufacturer warranty applies to a tap, floor, or appliance, that warranty is between you and the maker. We pass through documents we receive. Our workmanship warranty period, if stated in your contract, covers defects arising from our installation, not misuse or lack of maintenance.
Older homes may contain lead paint, asbestos, mould, or other hazardous materials. Unless a survey is included in the scope, we assume none are present. If we discover suspected hazardous material, we stop work in that area and you arrange licensed testing and removal. Restart dates depend on clearance. We are not a licensed abatement contractor unless a separate agreement says so.
Bathroom and wet-area work depends on correct falls, membranes, and ventilation. We follow the method in the scope. Ongoing leaks from adjoining properties, roof failures, or blocked drains outside our work are not our defect.
Invoices are payable as staged in the contract, commonly a deposit to order materials, progress claims at defined milestones, and a retention released after snag close-out. Late payment may pause work and attract reasonable administration costs. Title in unfixed materials remains with us until paid. You must not unreasonably withhold a milestone payment for items still on the snag list if those items do not prevent beneficial use of the room.
This website does not process card payments. Any payment instructions will be given in a written invoice after a representative contacts you.
You may cancel a quote request at any time before a contract is signed. After signing, cancellation is governed by the contract: manufactured goods already ordered may be charged; labour already performed is payable; restocking fees from suppliers may be passed through. We may suspend or terminate if you fail to pay, refuse access, instruct unsafe work, or harass our crew. On termination we issue a final account for work and materials to date.
We may photograph completed rooms for our portfolio unless you object in writing before work starts. Faces of household members will not be published without extra consent. Testimonials you send may be edited for length but not for meaning. You may ask us to remove a published testimonial by using the contact form.
Drawings, mood boards, colour schedules, and method statements we prepare remain our intellectual property. You receive a licence to use them for the project at the named property only. You may not reuse our drawings for another house or give them to another contractor as if they were yours, except for the purpose of completing the same project if we have been paid for the design package.
The Infectious Awareables name, circular house-and-tools mark, and website design are protected. Third-party fonts and icons remain the property of their owners.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of enjoyment, temporary alternative accommodation unless the contract includes it, or delay caused by suppliers, weather, or hidden conditions. Our aggregate liability for a project is limited to the fees paid for that project, except where liability cannot be limited (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under consumer law that applies to you.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from inaccurate information you supplied, unauthorised instructions, client-supplied defective goods, or injury caused by household members or pets in the work zone after we have given reasonable safety notices.
Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Newsletter subscription is optional. You may unsubscribe at any time through the Unsubscribe page. Forms on this site are client-side validated and do not transmit to a server from this static website; if you deploy the site with a form handler later, that handler must still honour these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Share buttons open third-party networks. Those networks have their own terms. We are not responsible for content on linked sites. Brand names shown in the yellow partner bar are stylistic service-category marks for layout and do not imply a current paid endorsement unless a separate agreement exists.
We may update these Terms to reflect new services, legal requirements, or site features. The date at the top will change. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance. For signed construction contracts, the version attached to that contract continues to apply to that project unless both parties agree otherwise.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the place where the home-improvement services are performed, or if the dispute relates only to website use, the laws applicable to our principal place of business. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith through email. If unresolved, either party may use mediation before court proceedings, except that we may seek urgent relief to protect intellectual property or unpaid goods.
Questions about these Terms should be sent through the Contact Us form or to hello@infectious-awareables.com with the subject “Terms & Services”. Please include the property description and the date of your quote if the question relates to a live project.
Thank you for reading. Careful terms keep kitchens, baths, and finishes predictable for both the household and the crew.
